YLE (the national broadcasting company of Finland) shot through last year a documentary on contemporary Finnish comic art.

The 42-min part featuring Tiitu Takalo and me can be watched online here.

Scandinavians may turn on the Swedish subtitles from the right bottom (TXT / Översättning).

Anyway, big thanks to Olli, Erik and the rest for all the work with the serie. It’s refreshing to see ‘Sarjakuvaelämää’ (Comic Life) focus purely on the art form rather than phenomenons around it. This is also the very first time the Finnish contemporary comic art is presented in media in this scale. Big thanks again.

The whole series featuring Suvi Ermilä, Matti Hagelberg, Leo Kuikka, Hanneriina Moisseinen, Ville Pirinen, Tiitu Takalo, Marko Turunen, Emmi Valve + yours truly watchable here.

… the serie seems to be online for at least one year.

No English subtitled version online? Would be amazing to widen the audience even more because already love looking at the images

Thanks for asking, no prob! Fully understand. Guess I’ll have to learn Finnish 🙂

Well, prolly not worth that… but learn Swedish (subtitles in Swedish available), it’s more useful 🙂

haha check! I’ve learnt some words from going to Sweden before like tack, öppet, hus or kaka ( which is funny to me as Dutch language speaker cause it means shit 🙂 )
