The contemporary comics collective KUTIKUTI would need some help to keep on doing what it does. Costs have gone higher in every direction. To make things better KK has just launched an X-mas Fundraiser. It gathers together four packages of art an publications:
1) A package of fifteen different 16-page risograph fanzines 50 €
2) KUTI magazine subscription and ten random older magazines 30 €
3) The Thick Book of Kuti (480 pages) and a random A4 risograph poster 50 €
4) Two different random screen prints in 420 x 600 mm size 50 €

Some samples on the new Future#9 magazine. This 2nd last issue of the series presents ‘The Exhibition’ of the bohemian bunch that the reader has seen building something through the back issues. Features horrible nightmare, our magician making his final decision, evening in Centra and a very smiley future. The wholesome is getting to its end, or does it?

I’m prolly the last one to share this but anyway this is HAPPY news to us in Kutikuti: The Thick Book of Kuti got awarded with Prix Alternative 2021 by The Angoulême Comics Festival last Friday. Thanks to the jury – this is an honour.
Congratulations to the book editors Heikki and Tuomas, the whole crew behind the book, supporters & Zum Teufel, all the artists featured and as well the hundreds of artists that ever participated in Kuti magazine.

YLE (the national broadcasting company of Finland) shot through last year a documentary on contemporary Finnish comic art.
The 42-min part featuring Tiitu Takalo and me can be watched online here.
Scandinavians may turn on the Swedish subtitles from the right bottom (TXT / Översättning).
Anyway, big thanks to Olli, Erik and the rest for all the work with the serie. It’s refreshing to see ‘Sarjakuvaelämää’ (Comic Life) focus purely on the art form rather than phenomenons around it. This is also the very first time the Finnish contemporary comic art is presented in media in this scale. Big thanks again.
